Real Antique Wood and LLMetalworks came together to create a limited run of 20 custom hand-made hatchets. Lisa of LLMetalworks hand-forged the head using the “wrap method”. She forged the mild steel jacket and then forge-welded a high carbon steel 1084 bit into the wrapped jacket. Lisa also shaped the sheath out of Holstex thermoplastic in black.

Anthony of Real Antique Wood shaped and fit the custom wood handle and contrasting wedge.

The cutting edge is 3” long and the head is 4.5” wide. Overall length is 14”. Since each hatchet is hand-made, they will vary a bit in size and shape, and Anthony used a variety of hardwoods for the handles.

Each hatchet is stamped as one of 20 and comes with a certificate authenticating it as part of this one-of-a-kind limited collaborative effort and including use and care instructions.

We are still in the process of finishing up the hatchets and you will receive an email once yours is done. We can ship the hatchet to you or you can opt to schedule a time to come in to the Real Antique Wood showroom at 31 Cordier Street in Irvington, NJ to pick it up in person.
